First-person hack n slash game City Of Brass to launch on May 4, 2018

Roguelite adventure game fans can look forward to the upcoming "Arabian Nights inspired" game 'City of Brass'. While the developer, Uppercut Games, would say that the game invokes an Arabian Nights feel in players, we certainly got some Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time vibes from it. The game has a similar middle eastern setting and skeletal mobs and sword fights, just in first-person instead of third-person. Also the team that developed this title consists of some folks who also worked on BioShock. The game will make its way to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on May 4, 2018. You can buy the game on Steam right now, as part of Early Access, for Rs 619.

City Of Brass gameplay

Set in a mythological metropolis undone by its love of gold, City of Brassfollows a cunning thief on a heist to obtain fabled treasure hidden in the heart of the opulent ruins. Armed with a bullwhip and blade, players will lash-and-slash their way through the legions of damned souls that haunt this legendary labyrinth while pilfering relics and other riches contained within its walls.

City Of Brass gameplay

The rhythmic interplay between these tools gives the experience a fluid feeling as melee bleeds into movement. The versatile whip is used not only to disarm, trip, and stun enemies but allows players to swing to safety or obtain objects that otherwise would be out of reach. The whip also has the ability to turn City of Brass’ dangerous environment against itself. Players can wield it to manipulate hazards from a safe distance and spring deadly traps on unsuspecting enemies.

City Of Brass gameplay

The game seems to have a lot of focus on creating a truly unique gameplay experience for all players with things like shifting streets that ensure no two playthroughs are ever the same and a Blessings & Burdens system, which can make the experience much easier or do quite the opposite. These optional modifiers can tweak everything from player health and damage output to item costs, ensuring City of Brass is tuned to everyone’s needs and desires. This system also extends to Mixer, Microsoft’s next generation streaming service, where viewers can interact with live-streamers by griefing them with additional enemy spawns or helping out with extra gold or healing items (talk about playing God!).

City Of Brass gameplay

"City of Brass is a fast-paced hack-and-slash adventure leaping from the pages of Arabian Nights,” said Ed Orman, co-founder and designer, Uppercut Games, “We hope players will enjoy plundering the city for its treasures when the game launches this May.”

Get your dose of Shaolin style beat 'em up action in the upcoming 9 Monkeys Of Shaolin

Russia based Sobaka Studio have come up with a new nostalgia inducing beat 'em up title called '9 Monkeys Of Shaolin'. The game will be making its way to a wide variety of platforms including PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch in fall 2018.

9 Monkeys Of Shaolin

The game is set in medieval China where a fisherman, Wei Cheng, goes up against a band of raiders who have destroyed his village and slaughtered his loved ones. Your primary weapon in this adventure would be your trusty staff and you will be performing cool martial arts moves on your foes in an environment laced with destructible objects. While this all very exciting to us, the fact that the game also supports co-op gameplay is just like icing on the cake. Two players can share the screen by either being present on the same system or via online co-op.

9 Monkeys Of Shaolin

The art style is somewhat minimalistic and the game looks pretty great as of now. On the gameplay front, you will have the ability to choose between 3 types of combat - land, air & magic. The game will also offer players a sense of progression both in terms of story as well as gameplay. You follow Cheng as he evolves from a simple fisherman to a Shaolin master. As you progress in the game, new abilities, items and perks will be unlocked. There will be 25 levels that range from pirate ships to Chinese villages to Japanese mansions and more.

The game will be published by Buka Entertainment and will be available in English and Russian although the developers do hope to add more languages.
