The much loved hack 'n' slash Capcom game "Onimusha: Warlords" is making a return on modern day hardware with an HD Remaster. The game is available for PlayStation 4 for Rs 1,664, Xbox One for Rs 1,660, PC for Rs 1,499 and Nintendo Switch. The remaster was handled by NeoBards, who also had a hand in the Devil May Cry HD Collection.
Released all the way back in 2001, the game became a favorite among many fans of the genre. It wasn't just the gameplay that impressed players, but also the story and the overall ambiance. With the remaster, the game now supports 16:9 aspect ration. Onimusha: Warlords also has a new soundtrack, improved controls with support for analogue sticks, high definition graphics and a new 'easy mode'.
For the uninitiated, the game's plot is set in the Sengoku period and players take control of two characters - Samanosuke Akechi and Kaede. They have to fight against the forces of Nobunaga Oda and save Princess Yuki.
While Onimusha is definitely a great game that will be experienced by many gamers for the first time with this remaster, the game has not aged too well. A remake would have been a great idea at a time like this. But I guess, Capcom had their hands full with another remake!
