Assassin's Creed Rogue Remastered released for PS4 and Xbox One; too soon for a remaster?

Assassin's Creed Rogue Remastered released

Believe it or not, Assassin's Creed Rogue, the game that came out in 2014 has got a remaster. Now while that is too early for a remaster, in Ubisoft's defense the game was launched on previous gen consoles (PS3 & Xbox 360) back then. So 'Assassin's Creed Rogue Remastered' is not just a graphical update but it also brings the game to the current gen consoles like the PS4 and Xbox One.

You can buy the game on:

Assassin's Creed Rogue Remastered runs at native 4K on PlayStation 4 Pro and Xbox One X and at 1080p on the normal PS4 and Xbox One. The extra power on the newer consoles have allowed the developers to make the game look sharper with more vegetation, crowd, volumetric fog and softer shadows. The game does look better than the version that was released almost 4 years ago.

What is great about this remaster is that it was developed by Ubisoft Sofia which consists of a lot of people that worked on the original game.

Assassin's Creed Rogue tells a rather different story, it is the story of Shay Patrick Cormac, an assassin who has turned against the brotherhood to become one of the deadliest assassin hunter in the history. The story of this game starts before Assassin's Creed III while the end serves as the prologue for the opening of Assassin's Creed Unity.

In a way it is good that the game got a remaster as it was overshadowed by the release of AC Unity on launch because both games were released simultaneously. This resulted in a lot of players entirely skipping AC Rogue initially as they did not even know that the game existed. This remaster gives the game a little spot of its own, even if some time later.
