Astellia, the game that promises to be play-to-win to be showcased at PAX South on January 20

A new fantasy MMORPG, "Astellia", is slated to hit the western market later this year. The game's first look will, however, be showcased at PAX South. PAX South is being held in San Antonio, Texas from Januray 18-20 and there will be a reveal party for the game where people will get their first hands-on experience of the game. The event will be hosted at the Falcon Theatre on Sunday, January 20th at 12:30pm Eastern / 9:30am Pacific. It will also be livestreamed on Twitch/PAX.

Astellia Online is an MMORPG striving to return the genre to its roots by putting player skill above all. It is valiantly brandishing itself as a Play-to-win MMORPG. How much of that is true, we will only find out post launch. The games is set in a vibrant fantasy world, Astellians are heroes blessed by the stars to call upon magical allies known as Astels. The game will have 3 factions battling against each other and 5 classes - Warrior, Ranger, Assassin, Scholar and Mage.

The game will also have PVE content like dungeons for solo as well as group runs and the dungeons will also scale in difficulty level. There will also be PVP arenas to duel against other players.

“We’re beyond excited to finally be able to show off Astellia at this year’s PAX South. We’re confident that we’re creating an MMORPG for fans of the genre, and one that they’ll be proud to call home later this year.” said Westley Conner, Producer on Astellia at Barunson. “We know the fear that so many MMOs wind up as Pay-2-Win in this genre, and we’re committed to making sure that Astellia never veers in that direction. Instead, we’re all about Play-to-Win, and we can’t wait to explain how at PAX South.”

This new remaster brings in a lot of enhancements to the games including better looking lighting, shadows and reflections. Newer textures have been used where applicable and textures are no longer downscaled to avoid tanking performance. In case you do not have a 4K TV and running a 1080p one, the game is rendered at a resolution higher than 1080p and then downscaled in order to remove jagged edges. The controls have also been tweaked for a better experience.

Though the games can still look a little funny and aged at certain points, one must remember that this is a remaster and not a remake.
