Episodic sci-fi game Elea receives 6th major update increasing FPS limit and hint systems

The people behind the sci-fi adventure "Elea" have been constantly listening to feedback from gamers and have thus released the sixth major update for the game. The game has been in Early Access since end of April, which has already resulted in an abundance of useful feedback from the community and previewers. The final version of "Elea - Episode 1" is releasing this summer for Xbox One and Steam.

In order to make the gameplay more engaging and user friendly the movement speed has been increased and numerous hints and objectives have been added. Additionally, a brand new hint system was introduced, giving the player more detailed objective information.  A “how to play” help screen has been added to guide players as well, accessible from the settings menu and at the start of the game. Another major improvement is that the FPS limit has been improved, now enabling up to 120 FPS, making the game run even more smoothly. Also, better screen space reflections have been added, in order to improve the graphical performances and make the surreal world of Elea look even more gorgeous.

Elea is being developed by Kyodai and published by SEODESCO and is an episodic sci-fi story telling adventure with particularly good soundtrack (as we noted in an earlier article). Marten Buijsse, Community Manager at SOEDESCO said, “Since the Early Access launch we have received a lot of community feedback and we’re very happy that so many people wanted to pitch in and help. The game has made great progress in these few months, but we’re not done yet! For the remainder of the Early Access period we will continue to update the game in accordance with player feedback, all the way until we have a perfect version 1.0.”

In order to fast track the completion of the medieval strategy game, The Guild 3, an additional studio has been employed. The game was being developed by GolemLabs and now they will receive a helping hand by Purple Lamp.

Purple Lamp is a new studio that consists of veteran developers, who have worked on various titles before at Austrian publisher/developer Sproing, among others. The new studio will will solve any problems as well as integrate planned features such as multiplayer, societies and the sovereign-mechanic into the game in the following months. Harald Riegler, CEO of Purple Lamp said, "The Guild is a fantastic franchise and we're proud to contribute both our experience and our personal passion for strategy games to deliver the game that fans are hoping for."

Jean-RenĂ© Couture, CEO GolemLabs Studios Inc. added, "For the past few years, the folks here at GolemLabs had the huge honor to work on The Guild 3. However, the very last remaining stretch of development will be done under the care and reigns of THQ Nordic. So, from now on, GolemLabs will eagerly and proudly be waiting for the release of The Guild 3. For us here at GolemLabs, it is time to embark on new and exciting adventures."

It seems that GolemLabs had some issues with the later stage development and publisher THQ Nordic decided to call in a new team. The Guild series have consisted of games that are set in medieval times where the player takes control of a regular person and work their way up to building an empire. The Guild 2 was released all the way back in 2006 and now the sequel is available on steam as part of Early Access.

Metro Exodus E3 2018 Gameplay Trailer looks enticing

A new gameplay trailer has just dropped for 'Metro Exodus'. The trailer has been captured from a single level in Volga. The trailer has some juicy gameplay decorated with a dark and ominous soundtrack that perfectly fits the cold and post-apocalyptic look of the game.

  • The game has a very Fallout 4 like feel with the deserted and destroyed landscape and steampunk nature of the game.
  • While the landscape is mostly laden with snow, the trailer emphasizes on the new day and night cycles that the devs have added to the game.
  • The water in the game looks really good with lifelike reflections and physics. This is the kind of game where despite the apocalyptic shenanigans you just might find yourself by the riverside gazing at the hypnotic waves.
  • With a steampunk setting come awesome and crafty steampunk weapons. There also is a cutomisation option with the ability to modify five things in a given weapon with things like muzzles, scopes, grips etc. Also the shooting seems on point and a lot of fun.
  • At one point an enemy NPC seemed to surrender which means that not only will we have the ability to kill of spare such people but also that the AI has been programmed in such a way that if you kill enough baddies, others might just give up in fear.
  • Zip-lines! Need I say more?
  • Oh! And there are zombies as well. There always must be. So we will have both the living and the 'not so living' to worry about.
  • To top it all, there seems to be some wierd creatures roaming the wastelands as well. There is a man sized bat that is every ready to pick you up and throw you from heights and a mutated giant crocodile that will eat your boat and you away.

Metro Exodus has been developed by 4A Games and published by Deep Silver. It is the third installment in the series. The first game was based on a novel but the later installments ventured in their own territories. Metro Exodus will be releasing on PC and consoles next year.
