5 Awesome Video Game Trailers You Need To See

Video game trailers are becoming better and better rivaling the intricacies of a big budget Hollywood blockbuster. Thus every now and the we come across some gems that stay within our memory regardless of how the actual game turns out.

Here are 5 video game trailers you need to see

1) Need For Speed The Run - Michael Bay TV Commercial

Need For Speed The Run was a remarkable game in the NFS series as it let you step out of the car form the first time in the series. The cross country setting made for some really diverse locales and thrilling race experiences. EA went to Director, Michael Bay who is known for his big budget action movies like the Transformers series, Armageddon, Pearl Harbor to name a few. They asked Michael Bay to direct a TV Commercial for the game and the result was a heart pumping, explosion and style filled trailer

2) Battlefield 1

While the full trailer for Call Of Duty  Infinite Warfare got what seemed like an 'infinite' amount of dislikes on YouTube, the Battlefield 1 trailer saved the day for FPS lovers. The short reveal trailer had in-game footage showing the steampunk like alternate World War I stetting, with planes, tanks and flamethrowers synchronized to the Glitch Mob remix of 'Seven Nation Army'  by The White Stripes. Combine that with the last shot of a giant blip in the sky and you have a level of epic-ness that only a few reach.

3) Batman Arkham Knight

The closing entry of the Arkham series of video games for Batman developed by Rocksteady studios had a lot going for its trailer. The realization that it was Batman's last outing for the series, seeing the Dark Knight trilogy inspired Batmobile in action and the hard hitting voiceover of Thomas Wayne, father of Bruce Wayne, as he reads the lines from his will. The stark contrast yet similarity in what Thomas says while Bruce gets dressed as Batman is truly applause worthy.

4) Assassin's Creed Revelations

Another last game for a main protagonist, Assassin's Creed Revelations had what we personally consider as one of the best trailers. This trailer also had a lot of emotions attached to it as long time fans of the series knew that their beloved Ezio had now become old and was still looking to find answers about the brotherhood and as such is lead to Masyaf, where the brotherhood was during the time of Altair. There he is attacked by a great many soldiers and all this while Woodkid's Iron is being played in the background with its lyrics perfectly outlining the life and emotion of Ezio.

5) World Of Warcraft: Wrath Of The Lich King

The third expansion for World Of Warcraft, the most played MMORPG ever, was Wrath Of The Lich King. It is still considered as one of the best expansions for the game. With each WoW expansion Blizzard launched a cinematic that knock the socks off of a lot of other trailers of the time and Wrath Of The Lich King was no different. The trailer is yet another example of juxtaposition of the narrative and visuals. The majestic setting of snow covered Northrend and celtic music theme, you literally get chills down the spine and then the trailer transitions into epic orchestral chants as Sindragosa rises from its snowy grave and takes flight again. The trailer still sends shivers down our spine even after all these years.
Also if you want to know the name of the music used in the cinematic, it is 'Arthas, My Son'.

Far Cry 5 Trailer Analysis

Far cry 5, the much anticipated game from Ubisoft has got a few reveal trailers that everyone had been waiting for. At first glance we thought it to be like any other open world shooting game released until now but there seems to be more under its skin.
Far cry 5 shows the sanctity of the seemingly serene countryside of Montana being disrupt by a group called Eden's Gate through the use of violence, politics and drugs. As with many first-person shooters, a hero rises to save the day, in this case you are the newly appointed Junior Deputy of Hope County.
Far Cry 5 will be launched on 27 February 2018 for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 4 Pro, Xbox One and even the yet to be launched Project Scorpio.

So without much further ado, here is our

Far Cry 5 trailer analysis-

1) Punishing the Sinners

In the game a religious cult, Eden's Gate has invaded Hope County and cut off the place's connection from the outside world. Throughout the trailer different sins like 'gluttony' and 'greed' can bee seen written of buildings or people. The cult seems to be controlling and punishing people according to their own rules of redemption and order.

2) 2 Player Co-op for entire game

Far Cry 5 can be played in single player and if you feel lonely and/or scared then the entire game can be completed in 2 layer co-op mode. This feature will add in a whole new dimension to the gameplay experience as you can play the whole game in single player and then play it again in co-op and have a completely different experience and possibly quite a hilarious one (we all know what happens when real humans are added in the equation)

3) Human & animal companions

If you are a sad and lonely nerd/geek like us then this is a great alternative for the co-op mode. You cannot just have AI human companions but also animal companions to help you in your endeavour of freeing Hope County off its disease. Additionally the animal companions will have different traits which means that you can have animals that complement your play-style. You can approach missions in a stealth manner or blow the front door like a badass!

4) Consequence

As per previous far cry releases the game would feature consequence. Like giving player choice of how they could complete their mission leading to different outcome and with the added dimension of certain residents of Hope County ready to fight off the cult, this could mean showing more or less loyalty to certain residents and subsequently unlocking specific perks.

5) Huge open world and planes!

Ubisoft has made it very clear that they are pretty much at the top of the game when it comes to huge open world maps with various terrains. Far Cry 5 will be no exception and you will get to experience farmlands, forests, mountains and rivers. With this comes the ability to pilot a variety of vehicles like american muscle cars, ATVs, boats and even a freaking plane with a machine gun!! This means that you can have an awesome adrenaline filled plane fight thousands of feet above the ground.

All we know about Darksider 3: Darksiders 3 Trailer Analysis

Almost anyone who has ever played Darksiders has loved it. I mean why would they not, First off it was one of the few good hack n slash games that was readily available on PC. Inspired by the book of Revelations, it had a setting as interesting as it can be. Being a story about the 'Four Horsemen of Apocalypse' fans were eager to get a taste of all the Horsemen, each in his/her own title. But sadly the company that made the Darksiders games had to shut down and fans were left with a sense of incompleteness.

It took more than 4 years before the eager and ever faithful fans got the first glimpse of a new entry in the series. Yes, the first look teaser of Darksiders 3 was uploaded on IGN and here is all that we could gather from the little knowledge that we have.

1) Unseen Human world locations
One thing that is evident from the screenshots is that the game will spend a healthy amount of time in the human world a.k.a the Third Kingdom. One still shows high rise buildings not previously seen in any other Darksiders game. Perhaps the game could take us back to New York post the premature apocalypse seen in the first game.

2) Prince Of Persia's Whip

I am sure a lot of Prince Of Persia fans had their jaws wide open on seeing Fury use her whip in the trailer for the first time. Just like the one we get in Prince Of Persia The Two Thrones, this whip seems to be made of spine like fragments allowing the whip to be elongated when needed. It is entirely possible that the game might use the whip to traverse between platforms. In combat, this could translate into gaining abilities like pulling enemies towards yourself or closing the distance by reaching towards them.. Alternatively the whip could also facilitate a much needed feature in the series, chain kill, literally.

3) Multi-Form Gameplay
While the previous games just had artifacts and weapons that one could use to spice up the gameplay and gain traversal abilities, Darksiders 3 is planning to take this to the next level by giving Fury different forms that would allow her to use specific weapons, skills and abilities in her various forms allowing for a very dynamic gameplay that should keep players hook till the end of the game without turning into a repetitive exercise.

4) Hair physics
From what we have seen till now, Fury's hair seem to have no regard for Earth's gravity. It seems to sway in its own motion. So expect some extra features in the graphics options for making the hair-flow more realistic.

5) Heavy Weapons
One screen shows Fury holding a giant hammer with two hands, meaning, despite her agile looks and nature, Fury will be able to wield heavy weapons to deal slow but devastating blows. There is even a possibility that we may see Fury wielding the Chaoseater as War seems to be still busy being held by the charred council.

6) The trailer also sees Fury use a vertical rock to run up and gain height before relieving the demon off his head. So we could get a protagonist in Darksiders 3 that cannot just straight up grab wall edges, but use them in combat. Again, very much like Prince of Persia.

7) Non-linear gameplay
The game promises to deliver a living and free-form open world allowing Fury to move back and forth to discover secrets. This could mean that areas would be recycled as players would have to revisit them after gaining certain abilities to explore new areas. While this has been somewhat the case in older Darksiders games as well, in Darksiders 3 it could be more seamless and maybe even allow for an opportunity to approach main story missions in any way you like.

8) Expected Release Date
The game is already available on amazon.com for pre-order and the release date there is stated as 31st December 2018. Keeping the possibility of a delay in mind, it is still fairly safe to assume that we could get our hands on Darksiders 3 early 2019.
